Who and Why

I did realise I haven't introduced myself properly.

Who I am
I wanted to start with something a bit more fun.
10 most interesting facts about me:
  1. I was born and raised in Finland and my superpower is speaking Finnish.
  2. I am a geek, especially when it comes to scifi.
  3. I am bit of a health nut but not obsessive one.
  4. I love both cats and dogs.
  5. I love nature.
  6. I hate peace and quiet!
  7. I mainly listen to heavy metal.
  8. I wanted to be an astronomer or egyptologist as a kid.
  9. In my free time, I play laser tag.
  10. I never understood the saying "back in the saddle" as a kid. I have literally fallen off horses many times and never hesitated to get back on the horse. I needed to be explained in detail before I understood what it meant.

So, there are a couple of things about me. Here is a little bit more. I am native Finnish speaker, but I have studied English for about 12 years, including in university, and I have spoken English for over 20 years. I will never be a native speaker, but I can still be pretty damn good at it.
I have somewhat unique view point as well. I am living in UK. I see the culture from outsider's view. I like the metropolitan feel of UK. Finland is quite isolated and not that many people living in there.
I believe in healthy lifestyle. I don't go overboard with it, and I think the mental and physical wellbeing need to be balanced. If the body is well, it affects the mind in a positive way.
I believe in helping the nature. I like plants and trees, but I could not live in a cabin in the woods! It's too quiet for me.
I have a scientific mindset. I love figuring out why and how things work. "Just because it does" doesn't work as an explanation for me, I need more. I like new gadgets and new tech.

Why I am writing this blog
I want to write for a living. I have written since I was about 10. I wrote several longer stories as a teenager and (bad) poetry. I stopped for a while from lack of confidence. But I have found my drive for it again.
I have spent some time figuring who I am, I've worked in different areas. Now, I study psychology. I like it, but I want to write as well. It makes me happier. Is there really any better reason to do it?

So, here is a little about me!
